Omni
Models, Inc. was formed in 1980 suceeding years as a subsidiary
of a major engineering firm. Initially, Omni Models was commissioned
to construct scale models of coal-fired
power plants. The complexity of piping associated with these
plants was often resolved by fabricating scale models. During assembly
of the model, problems discovered would be evaluated and resolved
prior to the time the actual contractor on the job was scheduled
to build the real structure. This process saved the contractors
valuable time and money. Today we continue to encounter problems
in all areas of design, which are resolved through effective communication
and options learned from various modeling samples.
Since that time, Omni Models has concentrated on architectural,
engineering and legal scale models. Our national reputation developed
from a concentration of sports facility scale models that were built
for high profile architectural firms located here in the Kansas
City area. Omni has been selected to construct models of nationally
recognized facilities such as the old
and new Comiskey Park
in Chicago, Madison Square Gardens in New York, and the Astro Dome
in Texas. A local newspaper once wrote that 90% of the sport facilities
designed in the United States are created here in the Kansas City
area.

The volume of Sports facility models has been prosperous and has
provided the funding needed for technology expansion. For example,
electronic drawings are imported into our in house laser to cut
and etch very intricate characteristics into the durable plastics
from which we construct our models. In addition, we offer brass
and nickel silver etching for that metallic look or when strength
is needed for very small intricate parts.
